JOB OPENING: Project Developer/Manager for Clean Renewable Energy

127 Energy, LLC (127 Energy) seeks a Project Developer/Manager to work on solar, storage and microgrid projects. 127 Energy is scaling up efforts to allow companies, cities, counties and states to run off of 100% renewable energy. The company assists customers to meet clean energy goals by helping them plan, develop, finance and build projects. Our primary geographic areas of business currently are California, New Jersey and Massachusetts, but we constantly evaluate new markets and work with customers that may expand beyond primary geographies.

Location: 127 Energy offers flexibility but has a preference for an employee who will work a minimum of three days per week from a Napa, CA office once the pandemic fades.

Availability: This is a full-time position with responsibilities commencing immediately upon selection of the most qualified candidate.

Position Description: The Project Developer/Manager will carry out outreach, analysis, research, writing, project development and management tasks related to the work and project development of 127 Energy and its customers. 

  • Responsibilities will include:
    ●  Work with Mark Crowdis and 127 Energy staff to identify markets, customers and technology solutions to climate change through collaborative meetings, technical analysis, or other activities

  • ●  Develop proposals and presentations for customers

  • ●  Create and execute project management plans

  • ●  Serve primarily in the California market, but may support work in other states

  • ●  Analyze and size renewable energy project opportunities

  • ●  Assess the costs and benefits of renewable energy project opportunities

  • ●  Manage customers collaboratively with the 127 Energy team through the sales,

    contracting and financing stages of development, as well as through the permitting,

    construction and commissioning phases

  • ●  Periodically identify partners and subcontractors for projects

  • ●  Research and assess permitting and interconnection requirements for solar, energy

    storage, microgrids and electric vehicle charging infrastructure

  • ●  Engage with customers to educate, inform and manage regarding renewable energy

    projects

  • ●  Prepare reports/updates for customers on status and next steps regarding their respective projects

  • ●  Periodically monitor energy market trends and policy developments in order to identify market opportunities

  • ●  Bring professionalism, compassion and fun into your daily work

  • ●  Provide a can-do attitude and action to every task necessary to complete a successful

    project

Desired Qualifications:

  • ●  Proven ability to educate and/or sell

  • ●  Knowledge of renewable energy development process

  • ●  Understanding of some applicable technologies

  • ●  Experience with managing relationships associated with complex projects

  • ●  Ability to track processes, success, and failures and improve processes as needed

  • ●  Comfort with tackling mathematical, science and engineering issues

  • ●  Understanding of clean energy markets

  • ●  Ability to effectively work with a diverse range of people

  • ●  Strong research and organizational skills

  • ●  Excellent communication and writing skills

  • ●  A willingness to learn

● A commitment to fighting climate change

Education and Experience:

  • ●  Four years of relevant work experience

  • ●  Undergraduate college degree

  • ●  Master’s degree in a related field desired but not required

Salary Range: Anticipated starting base salary is $50,000 - $100,000, depending upon qualifications. Commissions and bonuses will be offered based on performance of the individual and the company.

Travel: Occasional local and domestic travel will be required. Business travel typically lasts from two to three days with some weekend travel necessary. Our goal is to travel as little as possible to keep our pollution footprint as small as possible. We will endeavor to use Zoom-like services as much as possible for face-to-face interaction with clients.
